M.A.P. (Mentors as Partners) Mentors as Partners is a mentoring program that provides on-site, individualized training for all licensed homes, centers, and registered ministries within the six counties we serve. As part of the program, the Mentor Coordinator will make monthly visits to each home, center, or ministry. Evaluation of the home, center or ministry will be conducted initially. The following visits will include setting goals with collaboration from the staff of the home, center or ministry and the Mentor Coordinator. Also assistance in working towards these goals through specialized trainings and sharing of resources will also be conducted during the visits or offered off-site. Technical assistance will also be given in order to purchase items or an item for each program. This would be beneficial for those programs working towards accreditation. PAR (Partners for Academic Readiness) PAR is an in-home training program for Licensed Child Care Homes in St. Joseph County. A series of visits are conducted by the Mentor Coordinator. During the visits, specific subject focused training takes place along with the sharing of resources and information. At the end of each visit, ideas and activities are left for the child care provider. The Creative Curriculum kit is also used to access the home to make improvements in the areas needed. The PAR program is funded through the United Way of St. Joseph County.
