Better Baby Care- 4C's received grant dollars from the Indiana Child Care Fund, Inc. to conduct Better Baby Care activities in Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, St. Joseph, and Starke Counties. BBC is a national campaign and the State of Indiana has become involved. The BBC grant primarily funds the following activities: - Salary for an Infant/Toddler Referral Specialist
- Infant/Toddler Referral Specialist conducts enhanced referrals for families with children 0-4 years of age.
- Enhanced referrals consist of:
- Training families on what to look for and what questions to ask when seeking child care for their children.
- Calling child care providers to see if they have openings for the ages the family needs.
- Giving families a list of only those providers with openings.
- Following up with telephone calls to the families at 3,6,9, and 12 month intervals to make sure the care still meets the needs of the family.
- 30 hours of Infant/Toddler training is also available to all child care providers in Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, Marshall, St. Joseph and Starke Counties. Visit our training calendar to see what sessions are coming up!
